Comparing broccoli to good quality steak as a protein source is a misnomer. Trying to acquire your protein intake from broccoli isn’t possible. It contains microscopic amounts of essential amino acids, which are crucial for developing all new cells within your body. Further more, you’d need to eat so much broccoli you’d feel bloated from the fibre, which in turn will mean you’ll likely pass most of the nutrients through your digestive system without being absorbed properly, and become disenchanted with  this beautiful vegetable.

Broccoli is a nutritious plant source, packed with many vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. IT’S NOT A VIABLE PROTEIN SOURCE FOR OPTIMAL HUMAN HEALTH!

Organically reared cattle, treated right and left to graze in untainted pastures, will produce high quality steak containing many essential nutrients for human health - iron, zinc, vitamin B12, niacin, and selenium - alongside a good balance of fats and all the essential amino acids.

I have the uppermost respect for vegans, along as their doing it from a place of understanding. Being dogmatic and letting it cloud your intellect isn’t wise. I tried veganism for 6 months, it wasn’t for me - I got ill, and that was with supplements and a diet full of a variety of fruits and vegetables. I’m not meant to be vegan, which I suspect is the case for the majority of humanity.

🥙🥦 The people you spend the most time with and eat the most meals with are likely to have a big impact on how you eat. 
It’s hard to be the odd one out. Say you’re eating with a group of friends, you look at the menu and see a good chicken and vegetable meal but then every single other person at the table decides on pizza. Do you stick to your guns or follow the crowd?

Instead of following the crowd, think of yourself as a leader. Order what you want and what you know is going to make you feel good. You might experience some resistance, “why are you ordering that...why don’t you get pizza like us?” You shouldn’t preach to anyone about your health habits but answering the questions simply and directly could inspire change in others, “I’m, ordering this because I’ve noticed lately that it makes me feel heaps better than pizza.” Just remember not to preach as it may make those around you push back against change. Pizza might make you feel bloated but it might make your friend feel great. What works for you might not work for others. The important point is that you have made a simple change aimed at feeling better and that is the message which is worth sharing.

We adulted today and bought a super fancy kitchen thing  meet the Rolls Royce of toaster ovens! The @Breville Smart Oven Air- convention toaster oven that can broil, air fry, dehydrate, warm, slow cook, proof bread, and wipe your tushy. Oh wait, that’s me (I’m a mom ). —

I gave it a test run with spiced apple oat muffins for Cam to take to daycare. The recipe needs some work but I’ll post it when they are perfect! —

Non ho molte foto di me nel periodo in cui stavo male. Tendevo a nascondermi sempre o al massimo, cercavo di fotografare solo il viso cercando di trovare l'angolazione dove apparivo quello che non ero. Odiavo vedere me riflessa  e quando capitava che qualcuno mi scattava una foto, subito la cancellavo. Purtroppo questa cosa la faccio tutt'ora . Scappo sempre ogni volta che devo fare una foto e se mai qualcuno mi convince, provo grande difficoltà a rivedermi. .

Chi mi conosce da molto, sa come ero 3 anni fa e chiunque mi vede stenta a riconoscermi. Molte persone mi hanno per giunta dettose avessi qualcosa
I progressi sono stati tantissimi, lo ammetto, ma quasi ogni giorno mi vedo come allora. Il mio cervello non riesce a metabolizzare che non sono più quella  ragazza insicura, triste e grassoccia di un tempo. ( no aspè,  insicura lo sono tutt'oggi) .

Anyway , stavo ripulendo un po la galleria e vedo una foto scattata delle mie gambe di qualche giorno fa. 
Le gambe... la parte più difficile del mio corpo, il mio cruccio piu grande da SEMPRE! Quelle che mi hanno fatto piangere piu di una volta e continuano a farmi piangere, il mio coach ne è testimone che una settimana si e l'altra pure gli faccio una testa enorme sulla storia delle mie  gambe , cmq  finalmente con gran stupore, stanno iniziando un pochino a piacermi   quindi ho ripescato una delle mie vecchie foto e ho voluto subito fare la differenza per riuscire a convincermi che finalmente qualcosa si smuove   .

 Non sono granché con le parole 🤔 vorrei dire tante cose ma poi alla fine non riesco ad esprimere ciò che vorrei. Quindi boh  non so neanche come terminare tutta sta roba che ho scritto

Sai quanto spesso mi capita di leggere direct di persone preoccupate per LA torta di compleanno, L'esercizio che non hanno capito della scheda, per IL pasto sgarro, per LA cena fuori oppure che hanno il terrore di andare in vacanza perché poi non perdo TUTTI i risultati??. Ascolta, non sono qui per prenderti in giro, lo sai, non è così che ragiono. Sono qui per farti ragionare perché sei molto più in controllo della situazione di quanto tu non creda.  1. Non è con un allenamento inefficace (ovviamente escludendo i casi in cui puoi farti male) o per un esercizio saltato che comprometterai un lavoro costante 2. Not only do you get the satisfaction of a green circle for the day (which is so simple and totally works for me), but also alerts your accountabilibuddy that you accomplished your goal for the day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

A committed member of the @tttri_coaching club #Running, #cycling & #swimming pretty much every day. 
Her primary focus was fuelling on race day so we began to sort the fundamentals out in week 1 by ensuring her daily calorie & protein requirement was hit everyday without fail. 
Once that was nailed fuelling on race day would be easy & recovery would be quick & painless. 
We tested out a method prior to the #GreatNorthRun;

We elevated her carbs ‘slightly’ the day before & we ate ‘slightly’ more protein the morning of the race. 
All relative to her daily requirements & projected calorie expenditure during the race. 
It worked 

Aside from that Christine has achieved the following just from increasing her protein intake & paying attention to carb timing; - 5.2lbs overall weight loss - 18mm taken off her skin-fold measurements; - notably 16mm off her subscapular & suprailiac measurements in equal amounts - 13.5cm lost from circumferences - notably 4cm off her waist - Lean Muscle mass sits around 7 stone

 We wholeheartedly embrace better food choices for a bit, then eat macaroni and cheese for a week, then ace our new habits for a while, and then a business trip throws us off for a minute, then we’re back on the horse…⠀⠀⠀

️ We try something new and move forward, or upward, bubbling with excitement and energy.⠀⠀⠀

 Then we cycle. Life throws us a situation that tests our new approach. Progress pauses, or dips downward, or goes backward.⠀⠀⠀

The fewer ingredients the better. The bulk of your food should have zero ingredients. Meat, fruit, and vegetables.

Try to eat balanced meals as much as possible. Protein, a healthy fat source, dark green vegetables, and some carbs depending on your activity levels and body composition. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Try to eat the rainbow every day. Red, blue, green, orange, and yellow. All fruits and vegetables have different nutrient profiles and different colors yield different micronutrients. Eating this rainbow is natures multivitamin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Use spices instead of sauces. Spices contain antioxidants and micronutrients. Whereas most sauces unless homemade use sugar, artificial sweeteners, and other not so awesome ingredients. They are usually also very high calorie. Hot sauce, mustards, and salsa would be the exception to this rule.

Stop drinking your calories. This is the one that will make the biggest difference. Stop with the Slurpees, the cokes, the Gatorade, the juice. All of it stop now. Drink water, coffee or tea. This is the easiest way to almost immediately lose fat if you regularly consume a lot of sugar-sweetened drinks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don't waste your time with 6 meals a day. It is just a myth that eating that way stokes your metabolism this is absolute BS. There is no scientific data supporting this and if you consistently eat this way for a long time your body never learns to use your body fat for fuel. You only burn what you eat because you never give your digestive system a break.

We have been trained to be gluttons by media and advertising. You will not lose any muscle if you go a few extra hours without food. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3-4 meals a day is all you need. Try to space your meals out around 4 hr apart. This is the simplest most effective way to plan your meals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Back in the kitchen  Today’s recovery day has my body feeling hungryyyy. Anche se in ritardo, arriva anche il post di oggi, sfruttando la domanda che mi è stata fatta recentemente.
Un problema frequente, infatti, è quello di non aver abbastanza tempo la mattina per prepararsi la colazione, quindi spesso vengono chiesti consigli su pasti molto veloci da fare la mattina prima di uscire.
In realtà le soluzioni sono svariate. Dal prepararsi qualcosa la sera prima (e per questo ci sono tantissime pagine con ricette fit che potrebbero dare ottimi consigli) all'avere un pasto molto veloce che non implica una preparazione particolare.
Un esempio è proprio quello che vi propongo nel post, con delle quantità che andrebbero adattate all'individuo, in base ai pasti successivi che vuole fare ed alle sue calorie/macronutrienti.
Non è la colazione che potreste preferire, ma in termini di tempo è estremamente rapida.

La vostra colazione preferita invece qual è?

@mementofitlife @valefict Se sei davvero tanto di fretta, allora anche una barretta proteica o uno shaker con delle proteine. Se non hai fretta eccessiva, fare un pancake con albume e farina d'avena aromatizzata è molto rapido.

Terza ed ultima delle 3 infografiche-mini-manuali per il conteggio rapido dei macros negli alimenti.  I grassi sono fondamentali nella tua alimentazione. Cerca di variare fonti di grassi nell'arco della giornata: mangia diversi tipi di noci e semi, non dimenticare l'olio di oliva, fai in modo di non far mancare mai gli Omega3 e non disdegnare una piccola parte di grasso da alimenti animali.  I grassi hanno diverse caratteristiche e così gli alimenti che li contengono (per esempio i diversi minerali che trovi nelle noci)  I grassi sono il macronutriente più calorico (9Kcal per 1 gr) ma non vuol dire che debba far paura. Semplicemente considera che se tieni d'occhio le calorie, mangiare manciate di frutta secca solo perché è sana o versare dell'ottimo olio di oliva ad libitum nei tuoi piatti può andare contro i tuoi obiettivi di dimagrimento.

Sometimes patients come in and are curious about the chiropractic adjustment. I'd like to take a moment to address this question publically.

What is an adjustment?

The Ontario Chiropractic Association states: An adjustment is a highly skilled and precise movement usually applied by hand to a joint of the body. Adjustments free up the joint to restore proper movement and optimize function.

Chiropractic adjustment techniques have been researched extensively. Complications are rare and side-effects, such as temporary soreness, are usually minor. Your chiropractor will determine if your problem will respond to chiropractic care or if you require referral to another health care provider. When I assess a patient to see if a chiropractic adjustment should be a part of their treatment plan or be the modality I use on them that day, a series of tests are done to assess whether it will be the most beneficial modality to use and IF they require it in the first place. In cases where a patient is hypermobile in the area they are complaining about, the adjustment isn't my tool of choice. Mobilizing an unstable region may help decrease the sensation of pain but my practice focuses on quality of movement. I'd first address the issue in stability, helping a patient become more aware of how to create stability and move what's needed around this point of stability. 
Sometimes an adjustment is the answer in the case that something is compressed and needs to be decompressed in a certain direction.

Vedi il problema non è se funziona o se non funziona Herbalife.

Ne per quanto ci riguarda se sia legale o no il loro metodo di distribuzione.

Il problema è che se un prodotto alimentare dichiara proprietà dimagranti in quanto tale, allora si crea confusione, si distoglie il discorso dalla realtà delle cose e si passa al credo, dove io non credo in Herbalife e tu ci credi.

Da li si passa al mia zia ha perso 18kg a un mio amico non ha perso nulla.

E le aziende su questo ci vivono.

Mentre il discorso è un'altro: come funziona il corpo umano?

Funziona per prima cosa in base al bilancio energetico.
Semplificando quindi, se devi dimagrire devi mangiare meno di quello che consumi, storia già sentita giusto? Ma funziona così.

Quindi puoi dimagrire mangiando solo frullati herbalife, o puoi ingrassare mangiando solo frullati herbalife, dipende solo se con i frullati, mangi di più o di meno rispetto a quello che consumi.

Non ci sono proprietà magiche nei prodotti herbalife, a dispetto di quello che ti vogliono far credere.

Chi ha risultato è chi probabilmente mangia meno di quello che mangiava prima.

È ovvio che ci sono discorsi sui nutrienti, sulla sostenibilità di un'alimentazione del genere, su quanti carboidrati proteine grassi e fibra vanno mangiati, sullo sport da fare.

Ma la sostanza sta sempre li, se qualcuno con il proprio metodo ti promette che avrai risultati, senza che il proprio metodo sia basato sul vero funzionamento del corpo umano, ti sta buttando fumo negli occhi per portarti a credere in quel metodo o prodotto.

I credi lasciamoli alle religioni, per il resto basiamoci sulla scienza.

I often get asked “what should I eat for snacks throughout the day?” 🤔

This chart from @precisionnutrition illustrates this question perfectly.  Trust me I get it, some of the snacks on this list may put some of you into straight up panic mode.  Nutrition is not easy.  Weight loss is not easy.  Making healthy choices is not easy, but with time it does get easier.  You just have to take that first step and start.

A big mistake many “newbies” make when it comes to eating healthy is that they try and COMPLETELY change their entire diet from the beginning.  This will most likely lead to frustration and failure.  SLOW DOWN!  Take it one step at a time and try to make this whole process a gradual habit.  That’s the only way any nutritional or gym routine will stick.

Let’s take this chart for example.  If you’re not used to weighing, cooking, packing, and carrying your own meals with you, don’t even attempt to do all of that at once in the beginning.  Start with bringing ONE snack on this list to work with you, just one!  It can be a different snack every day, but the idea here is to make that simple action a habit.

Perform this for at-least three weeks without skipping a day.  After three weeks start incorporating a second snack with you.  So now you’re bringing two healthy snack to work with you.  Stick with this routine for another three weeks. (You see where I’m going with this.)

If you can master this routine and you feel like it’s becoming a habit, THEN you can start thinking about preparing actual meals for yourself.  That’s when you start to see the real progress begin, but like I said before you have to take this at a snails pace to make sure you don’t fall off the wagon and start hitting up that vending machine for your afternoon sugar high!

Ne per quanto ci riguarda se sia legale o no il loro metodo di distribuzione.

Il problema è che se un prodotto alimentare dichiara proprietà dimagranti in quanto tale, allora si crea confusione, si distoglie il discorso dalla realtà delle cose e si passa al credo, dove io non credo in Herbalife e tu ci credi.

Da li si passa al mia zia ha perso 18kg a un mio amico non ha perso nulla.

E le aziende su questo ci vivono.

Mentre il discorso è un'altro: come funziona il corpo umano?

Funziona per prima cosa in base al bilancio energetico.
Semplificando quindi, se devi dimagrire devi mangiare meno di quello che consumi, storia già sentita giusto? Ma funziona così.

Quindi puoi dimagrire mangiando solo frullati herbalife, o puoi ingrassare mangiando solo frullati herbalife, dipende solo se con i frullati, mangi di più o di meno rispetto a quello che consumi.

Non ci sono proprietà magiche nei prodotti herbalife, a dispetto di quello che ti vogliono far credere.

Chi ha risultato è chi probabilmente mangia meno di quello che mangiava prima.

È ovvio che ci sono discorsi sui nutrienti, sulla sostenibilità di un'alimentazione del genere, su quanti carboidrati proteine grassi e fibra vanno mangiati, sullo sport da fare.

Ma la sostanza sta sempre li, se qualcuno con il proprio metodo ti promette che avrai risultati, senza che il proprio metodo sia basato sul vero funzionamento del corpo umano, ti sta buttando fumo negli occhi per portarti a credere in quel metodo o prodotto.

I credi lasciamoli alle religioni, per il resto basiamoci sulla scienza.

[CREAMY SALMON BITES] What better way to celebrate Cooking Day than sharing another VitaGEN recipe!

Ingredients:
120g Greek yoghurt
100g wild smoked salmon, chopped
1 medium cucumber or baby gem lettuce
1 tbs cream cheese
1 tsp fresh lemon zest
1 tsp dill, chopped
Sea salt

Method:
Blend yoghurt and cream cheese together
Mix in lemon zest and dill
Fold the chopped salmon into the mix and season
Serve on cucumber or in lettuce boats
